The New Zealand route gadget site has been updated to the latest version. No more java, and touch screen device friendly. Great tool and hopefully more people will use it now it is more user friendly - thanks go to Carsten for managing this site.

Brilliant. Thanks so much Carsten. I had given up on the old RG as no matter what I did to newer javas I could get to to load any more.
I had been wondering about RG2 as it looks much better as well...A fantastic new feature enables you to mass start from each control, which is very useful if you want to see side by side comparisons of speed and various route choices.
Works a treat (viewing) on an average android phone too.
No excuses now.

Are we going to use it? Must admit that I've become dispirited by the lack of routes going in, is that why other clubs aren't using it? Tho after missing the Auck Champs I'd appreciate just seeing the maps.

The Auckland DOMA has the maps from Auckland Champs

Nelson has started using it and will do so from now on. I think it is an essential tool for schools orienteering and next years local schools sprint series will definitely have it. It takes me about 10 more minutes to do this than not.

Some problems loading events into RG have been traced to the format of the courses file. The latest Condes and OCAD Course setting "export courses" defaults to IOF XML Version 3 whereas RG at present requires Version 2. Ack Matt Radford of HBOC for providing the key to this. He's doing great things by assembling RG routes into little Powerpoint "lessons".

Nice to see the SS Champs maps on RG, I hope to see some more routes go in. Apart from orienteers' own learning, course planners can learn a lot by seeing where runners went.
